Councillors agreed not to go ahead with the Yule Street bike lanes at a meeting in March 2018. The proposed layout for the street wasn’t well supported during consultation, and only offered marginal benefits for people on bikes. The improved bike lanes on Te Whiti Street will provide a safe alternative route nearby.

In this quiet street, painted bike lanes between the parked cars and traffic should be enough to make this part of the planned network safer and more appealing for less confident riders. It helps connect the Leonie Gill Pathway with the Rongotai Road bike lanes.
